my ps3, 80gb won't turn on.  No lights, nothing.  I replaced the power supply and still nothing.
Is there a way I could check to see if it's the switch or the motherboard??

$50 Reflow option (Reflow Station with Flux)- We have had a very high success rate, but there is a chance this will not be a permanent fix because of the lead free solder that Sony used on these chips. Please do not believe other sites that guarantee otherwise. We do offer a 6month guarantee on this repair.

$79 if you need a new power supply as this is sometimes the problem

Or we can replace your motherboard and blu ray control board for between $130-$180 with a motherboard match of equal compatibility (same usb ports and ps2 compatible or not).

Feel free to also contact us at 815-218-1719 with any questions.

Try reseating the ram chip(s). IF you have more than one memory chips, try taking one out at a time and see if the comp. boots that way. It could be a bad memory chip or a bad memory socket causing the problem.

Let us know if this fixed your problem.

Sounds like you need a new hard drive, but we wouldn't know for sure unless we look at it. If you can get another hard drive (a friend's or a laptop hard drive that you are not using), I would recommend testing it with that one before buying a  new drive.

It sounds like your ps3 is overheating. This can be caused by many reasons including dust buildup and general wear and tear. The only way to fix an overheating problem is to open it up. Rockfordpc.com does fix this problem.

 Game Systems / PS3 / ps3 60gb problem

Hey, so i bought my ps3 60gb on 9/7/07, and its been just fine up untill a week ago. To add that ive played it a bit but not everyday of the week. somtimes a month or 2 in between. So once i turn it on it will play the game for like 5 minutes or so and it creates alot of heat coming out, and then the commentary goes off then once the screen changes it stays black. And then cant turn it off unless i use the power button on the back. Im thinkin its not that its dirty or anything its gotta be somethin internal. I know my warrenty is up but i think this is bs of sony to release a product knowing its not 100% fine. Any suggestions on my prob? thnx
